The Ren & Stimpy Show Ren and Stimpy Ink Sketch on Canvas Original Art Signed by John Kricfalusi (Nickelodeon, c. 1990s). "You eediot!" Ren and Stimpy make a spectacular appearance in this original ink sketch on canvas by the hand of their creator, John Kricfalusi. Kricfalusi's interest in animation began in childhood with an intense love of golden-age productions ranging from Disney and Lantz to Hanna-Barbera and DePatie-Freleng. His career in the field began at Filmation in 1979, but he found notable success after forming the studio Spümcø which would go on to create and produce his most well-known series The Ren & Stimpy Show. Ren & Stimpy premiered alongside Dougand Rugrats on August 11, 1991, becoming the first branded Nicktoons on the children's TV network Nickelodeon. Despite the show's popularity and high viewership, it encountered regular issues with the network's Standards and Practices department and often missed deadlines causing Kricfalusi to be let go from Nickelodeon in late 1992 with the network producing the remaining 3 seasons through their in-house studio. This great illustration of Kricfalusi's most recognizable characters has been rendered in ink on stretched canvas measuring 11" x 14". Ren and Stimpy are both featured full-figured, absolutely filling the canvas with a combined character size of 10" x 12" with Kricfalusi's signature found in the lower left. With typical handling and edge wear including some minor surface scuffing/wear, overall this rare tribute to some of the first Nicktoons is in Very Good condition.
